NAIROBI, Kenya- Windsor Golf and Country Club hard hitter Rizwan Charania shot an impressive one under par 71 at his home course to take an early lead in the sixth leg of Safari Tour golf series on Sunday.

He carded 34 points in the first nine where he sunk birdies in par five holes three and five. He then added 37 in the back nine despite dropping shots in par three hole 13 and par four hole 14.

“I'm pleased with my performance; it wasn’t easy, but I managed to play under-par to top the leader board.

“I’m now focused to make the cut on Monday before deciding on the next two remaining rounds,” he underlined. 

Ugandan David Kamulindwa and Sujan Shah of Sigona Golf Club tied in second after hitting one over apiece. 

Kamulindwa fired 35 and 38 in the front and back nine in that order while Shah hit 36 and 37 for their totals.

Dismas Indiza of Mumias Sugar, Jeff Kubwa of Muthaiga and Alfred Nadwa of Railways tied for fourth with two over.
