NAKURU, Kenya- Enosh Ochieng was on target as Ulinzi Stars edged Vihiga United 1-0 at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Wednesday afternoon to move to seventh in the SportPesa Premier League standings.

Ochieng’s 11th minute strike stretched his tally to 13 goals this season, two shy of Golden Boot race leader Allan Wanga of Kakamega Homeboyz FC.

The victory saw Ulinzi move to seventh on 36 points while the loss dipped Vihiga to 16th on 21, just a step away from the relegation zone currently occupied by Zoo Kericho FC and Mount Kenya United.

Visiting Chemelil Sugar FC edged Kenya Commercial Bank FC 2-1 at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos to move to 13th on 28. KCB (29) dropped to 12th after the defeat.

At Sudi Stadium in Bungoma, Nzoia Sugar FC were held to a barren draw by Kisumu based Western Stima FC in a tough encounter.

The stalemate lifted Nzoia (29) to 24th while Stima (27) climbed to 14th.

League leaders Gor Mahia FC are poised to take Mount Kenya United in Machakos on Thursday where victory will see them open a four point gap between them and second placed Sofapaka FC.
