Leopards got off to a perfect start, scoring the quickest goal in SportPesa Premier League history.

Paul Were did extremely well on the left flank to skip past Ken Taifa before squaring the ball for Whyvonne Isuza to tap in for a 1-0 lead.

Leopards seemed to be more in the mood than their opponents and won a free kick in a dangerous position in the seventh minute, which skipper Robinson Kamura took, forcing a good save from John Oyemba in the Sharks goal.

On the quarter hour mark, Sharks got the first corner of the match taken by captain Patilah Omotto but Kamura was there to pump the ball away to safety.

Tempers flared in the 23rd minute when Isuza repaid a bad challenge he received from Omotto and the two engaged in a scuffle but the game went on shortly after.

David Cheche Ochieng received a yellow card two minutes later for a bad challenge on Duke Abuya and the resulting free-kick was sent over the bar by Nixon Omondi.

The game lacked chances on goal since the quick fire opener as Sharks continued to look for the elusive equalizing goal.

Leopards didn't seem to be troubled by the increased possession by the home team and maintained cool heads until the referee blew for half time, the score still 1-0.

The second half began with tempers again as Kamura and Sven Yidah tussled after a bad challenge that led to a yellow card for the Leopards skipper.

Were was involved in yet another dangerous attack down the left flank in the 48th but his attempted cross was deflected for a Leopards corner.

Abege was the hero for Sharks in the 90th with a headed effort that leveled matters, to all but assure William Muluya's side an important point.
