Elsewhere, KCB FC will be seeking to enhance their chances of bagging the coveted title when they host a struggling Muhoroni Youth side at Thika Stadium.

Here are the key details you need to know regarding match week 19 fixtures.

Gor Mahia’s unbeaten run at risk as Tusker come calling

Defending champions Gor are set to battle it out with the Brewers in a top of the table tie slated for Saturday afternoon at the Machakos Stadium.

K’Ogalo have just about managed to get over the line recently, winning three of their last fixtures by a 1-0 scoreline.

Head coach Jonathan McKinstry knows that if his charges do not up their game against the Brewers, their 18-game unbeaten streak may come to an end.

Tusker FC, who sit third in the table standings, have been a different animal since Wednesday, December 13, winning five matches in a row.

The club managed by the experienced Robert Matano have scored more than three goals and conceded only once in their recent two matches and promise to offer a stern test as they bid to cut down Gor Mahia’s lead at the top.

Ingwe on a mission to dim Nairobi City Stars light

AFC Leopards will be aiming to win three back-to-back matches for the first time this season when they lock horns with high-flying Nairobi City Stars at the Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday, January 21.

Ingwe, who became a laughing stock after starting the season poorly, have registered some encouraging results since returning from the holiday break.

The Tomas Trucha coached side walloped Ulinzi Stars 1-0 on Sunday, January 7 before beating Muhoroni Youth by a similar scoreline a week later.

On the other hand, second-placed Nairobi City Stars travel to Western Kenya expecting nothing but a win as they chase leaders Gor Mahia.

Simba wa Nairobi have proved many of their doubters wrong this season, and a victory against Leopards will improve their chances of lifting the elusive FKFPL title.

Only seven points currently separates Simba wa Nairobi from K’Ogalo who sit at the helm of the log with 40 points.

Therefore, any slip from Gor Mahia will draw the Nicholas Muyoti charges closer to their dream destination - the top of standings.

Murang’a Seal visit fellow strugglers Posta Rangers

After starting the season strongly, Murang’a Seal’s ship started to leak and it will soon sink if they continue losing matches.

Murang’a Seal, who are sponsored by SportPesa, are winless in their last eight league matches, with their last victory coming against Tusker in the first week of November, 2023.

The side which occupies the 10th position in the standings with 24 points appointed Abdallah Juma as their new head coach and will be seeking to return to winning ways when they play Posta Rangers in the final match of the weekend

Posta Rangers are also in the same situation, having picked up maximum points in only one of their last six games.

A win for either of the two clubs will go a long way into boosting their morale and perhaps even turning their season around.
