AFC Leopards Releases Anniversary Report, Reveals Raising Ksh18.8 million

AFC Leopards has released the 60th-anniversary celebrations report detailing key activities, money raised, expenditures and key recommendations. 

According to the Ingwe raised Ksh18.8 million during the month-long anniversary celebration which included an official Statehouse visit after an invite from President William Ruto. 

From the report, President Ruto boasted the club's activities by donating Ksh10 million followed by Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba who gave out Ksh2 million. 

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja gave out Ksh2 million while Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi gave the club Ksh1.5 million. 

Other companies and individuals chipped in and raised the money to Ksh18.8 million. 

"Resource Mobilization sub-committee managed to raise a total of Kenya Shillings 18,856,000 (Eighteen Million, Eight Hundred and Fifty-Six Thousand Only)," the club stated. 

"AFC Leopards takes this opportunity to extend their heartfelt appreciation for everyone who contributed to the club’s 60th anniversary and took part in all the activities. Thank you for believing in our vision, standing by our side, celebrating and creating lasting memories with us." 

Money Paid for Friendly Matches 

According to Ingwe's 60th Anniversary Report, the FKF Premier League paid their arch-rivals Gor Mahia Ksh1 million for a friendly match which ended in a 1-1 draw at Nyayo Stadium. 

A similar amount was also paid to Shabana FC who played AFC in a friendly match which ended in a 1-1 draw. 

The club however did not reveal if any amount was paid to A.E Ramassa from Barcelona Spain which also played against Ingwe in the final match. 

Recommendations 

According to the report, the committee recommended AFC Leopards to employ a media and liaisons officer to build, maintain communications, and coordinate its media activities. 

The club honored the recommendation and unveiled Catherine Shainyisa as the club’s new club’s Media Liaison Officer. 

“Ingwe@60 will go down in Kenyan football history as the first football club to celebrate together with other football clubs through the invite. The acceptance of other clubs to join AFC Leopards in the celebrations was a clear indication that the event was widely accepted. We also improved our working relationship with our partners and sponsors who willingly assisted the project to achieve its budget targets. We worked closely with Betika, Azam TV, MAA Hotel, County governor of Nairobi, Bungoma, Vihiga, Kakamega, Trans-Nzoia and Busia not forgetting our political leaders from western Kenya who really assisted in gracing the occasion.”  Ingwe at 60 Committee Chairman, Elder Vincent Shimoli signed out as he handed over the Ingwe at 60 reports to the club’s National Executive Committee.
