MACHAKOS, Kenya- Leaders Gor Mahia FC picked a walk-over against  basement side Mount Kenya United FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Thursday afternoon to open a four point gap in the SportPesa Premier League.

Mount Kenya players who failed  to show up at the venue for the match staged a sit-in at Nairobi City Stadium over pending salaries.

“We have not seen any salary since last year yet the coach has been paid to date.We are not going to take any payment which is less than six months,” underlined a player who requested not to be quoted.

The walk-over saw Gor stretched their lead at the summit on 52 points while relegation threatened Mount Kenya remained stuck at the bottom on 15.

Gor, who have won the league unprecedented 17-times, will battle former champions Tusker at the venue on Saturday.

The other double header encounter at the location pits Kenya Commercial Bank FC against visiting Kakamega Homeboyz FC who will be steered by Golden Boot Race leader Allan Wanga currently riding high on 15 goals.
