Tusker seek revenge against Murang’a Seal as Ingwe visit Talanta

Multiple Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) winners Tusker will be plotting revenge against Murang’a Seal when the two sides meet on Sunday.

The eagerly anticipated fixture is scheduled to be played at the recently opened Dandora Stadium from exactly 12 noon.

Tusker were beaten 2-1 by the SportPesa sponsored side in the first leg which was played back in November 2023 where Batts Awita scored a brace for Murang’a Seal with Tusker’s goal coming courtesy of John Byamukama.

Since then, the two clubs which were struggling at the time, have witnessed tremendous improvement, with Tusker currently sitting third in the FKFPL table with 49 points.

Murang’a Seal on the other hand occupy the 12th spot on the log and a win will ensure they leapfrog KCB, who shared spoils with Nzoia Sugar on Saurday.

Speaking ahead of the crunch tie, Tusker forward Eric Kapaito has acknowledged that they will have to be at their best in order to overcome their opponents. 

“Our preparations have been good and I believe everyone is ready for the match. It is going to be a hard game because they took the three points in the first leg and for us we want to continue with the good run that we have had.

We won last Monday’s game, so we also want to pick up the three points this weekend and it won’t be easy.

It will be a difficult match because they also need the three points, but I believe we are ready for the game,” he commented.

Elsewhere, AFC Leopards will battle it out with FC Talanta at the same venue with the match expected to kick off at 3 PM.

Ingwe go into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Coastal-based side Bandari FC. Clifton Miheso was the hero for the Tomas Trucha charges in the match which was played on Sunday, May 5.

A win for AFC Leopards will increase their tally to 44 points with a few matches remaining to the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Talanta will do everything in their power to pick up the maximum points because they are in danger of being relegated.

The club sits at position 14 at the moment with 30 points, three more than Muhoroni Youth who occupy one of the relegation spots.
