Tusker FC beat Posta Rangers 2-0 in their final game of the Kenya Premier League season to be crowned champions for a second successive season at the Ruaraka Complex.

Shaphan Oyugi and Jackson Macharia were both on target to ensure the brewers beat Kakamega Homeboyz on goal difference to secure the title.

Homeboyz were awarded a 2-0 walkover victory after Kariobangi Sharks failed to honor their fixture in Mumias, guaranteeing them a 63-point finish.

Oyugi gave them a first half lead after his 26th minute goal and they had to wait until 11 minutes from full time for Macharia to put the icing on the cake.

"We worked so hard for this and as a team we are proud of what we achieved. Everyone has put in the effort and we are delighted to defend the title.

"I am also happy for the guys who came in and won the title for the very first time," Tusker skipper Humphrey Mieno said after the game.

Record league winners Gor Mahia finished the season in third, while Bandari and newcomers Nairobi City Stars rounded up the KPL top 5.

Kelvin Monyi was sent off in the 84th minute for a second yellow card but it was too late as the brewers held on for the all important win, sending Ruaraka into delirium.

"You should be proud of yourselves and proud of what you have done. I am proud of you as a team," coach Robert Matano said following the victory.
