NAIROBI, Kenya- SportPesa Premier League (SPL) champions Gor Mahia FC will put their unbeaten start to the season on the line when they face another side that is yet to lose in Western Stima FC on Saturday.

Gor, who were out of action this past weekend due to continental duty in the CAF Confederations Cup, remain top of the SPL log with 15 points from five games, with two games in hand.

Stima on the other hand are in 10th with 10 points and have began the 2019/20 campaign on course to retain the top flight status they achieved last season.

Second place AFC Leopards SC will host Ulinzi Stars FC on Sunday at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, knowing that if eternal rivals Gor drop points they will go into the Mashemeji Derby next week leading the pack.

New signing John Mark Makwatta has proved to be the marksman that Leopards have been lacking with a remarkable five goals in the embryonic league campaign, making him the league's top scorer.

Mathare United FC and Posta Rangers FC are level on points (10) and the tricky encounter will be the curtain raiser on Friday afternoon at the Kasarani Stadium.

SportPesa Shield winners Bandari FC also resume domestic duty on Saturday with a match against third-place Kenya Commercial Bank FC (KCB).

Bandari lost 4-2 to Guinean side Horoya FC on Sunday in the first leg of the CAF Confed Cup playoff and will hope they can return to winning ways when they host the bankers at the Mbaraki Stadium.

2016 SPL champions Tusker FC are coming off a 1-0 loss to Ulinzi and if they are to improve on their fifth-place standing on the log, they will have to register a win against Nzoia Sugar FC when they lock horns on Saturday afternoon.

Nzoia are in 11th place with eight points and have only managed two wins the entire season.

Kariobangi Sharks FC, who beat Everton FC at Kasarani in July, have only won once this season and are three points above the relegation zone.

They face a lowly Zoo FC side that have only managed one win and remain with four points on the log.
