Wilson Kamau scored a second half equalizer as Murang'a Seal came back from a goal down to salvage a 1-1 draw against NSL champions APS Bomet on Sunday.

The point means that Seal finish the league in third place and will now face Wazito FC in the Kenya Premier League promotion play-off.

There was drama even before a ball was kicked as Fortune Sacco were given a walkover in their match against Gusii FC at the Kericho Stadium.

Those three points guaranteed that the Kirinyaga-based side were certain of a place in next season's Kenya Premier League for the first time in their history.

Muhoroni Youth could only manage a 1-1 draw against Shabana FC, meaning they could not do better than a fourth-place finish.

Murang'a Seal looked unsettled in the first half and conceded an early goal in the 8th minute after the home team capitalized on a loss on a good freekick.

The Vincent Nyaberi-coached side never gave up and came back stronger in the second half to score the equalizer but were unfortunate not to find a late winner.

"The game was not easy but we recovered from our early mistakes and at least came out of it with a very important point.

"We now go into the playoffs where we know it's our last chance to qualify for the Kenyan top flight. We are going to fight until the end, it's far from over," Captain Peter Mwaura told SportPesa News after the game at the Bomet County Stadium.

Seal will now play a two-legged playoff against Wazito FC, who finished the KPL in 16th place with 34 points.
