Real Madrid pulled off a remarkable comeback on Wednesday to beat Manchester City 6-5 on aggregate to book a spot in the UEFA Champions League final.

Carlo Ancelotti's side came from a goal down to win 3-1 on the night at the Santiago Bernabeau to set up a repeat of the 2017/18 final against Liverpool in Ukraine, where Madrid won by the same score-line.

After a goalless first half, Riyad Mahrez broke the deadlock with a thumping left-footed strike past Thibaut Courtouis' near post in the 73rd minute.

In-form substitute Rodrygo stole the show late one with two goals in as many minutes, giving Madrid a 2-1 lead in the 91st minute to force extra-time.

Karim Benzema beat Ruben Dias to a loose ball in the box and was brought down by the City defender, after which he stepped up to take the penalty and scored his 43rd goal of the season.

The 13-time winners have pulled off amazing comeback victories against PSG and Chelsea already this season and are on course for a record-extending European title.

Ancelotti became the manager with the most appearances in European finals, after securing a 5th showdown for continental glory,
