Kenya's Rayton 'Boom Boom' Okwiri extended his unbeaten record on Wednesday night after beating Ugandan John Serunjogi via technical knock-out in Dar es Salaam.

Okwiri was far more superior than his opponent from the first round and has now 7 wins - 6 via knockouts and 1 draw to his belt, still unbeaten in the ring.

The 10-round non-title bout in Dar es Salaam ended in the 8th after Okwiri continually landed jabs on the Ugandan, making it impossible for him to continue.

Serunjogi went down a couple of times and was saved by the rope but the high intensity and the fierceness of Okwiri's punches were inevitably too much to handle.

He was sent sprawling to the ground early in the eighth round and the referee called for the end of the boxing match, granting the 35-year old Kenyan the victory.

The fight came two months after Okwiri knocked out Fidel Munoz of Colombia in another non-title fight in Portland.

"Winning a world title is and has been my dream and a dream for any professional boxer.

"Therefore, I’ll not underrate any of my opponent in any match in my quest to win a world title," Okwiri had said in preparation for the highly anticipated bout.

The Kenyan professional boxer has been training in the United States for the past three months and with the help of leading gaming firm SportPesa, he was able to get a plane ticket home where he is set to compete in four non-title bouts.

Okwiri will take on Enock Musambuzi of Zimbabwe on November 26 in Dar es Salaam ahead of another bout in Mombasa on December 12.

"All these fights are meant to help me prepare in my quest to clinch a world title, which is my dream.

"I don't know when that will happen but when it does, I am prepared to face it head on and prove to the world that I can be a champion," Okwiri underlined.

After the impressive outing in Tanzania, Okwiri is set to jet back into the country on Thursday morning at 11 am for a short recovery period before he resumes training for the upcoming bouts.
