Namanda Double Seals Tusker Comeback Win Against Toothless Sharks

NAIROBI, Kenya- Tusker FC forward Luke Namanda scored a brace as the 2016 SportPesa Premier League (SPL) champions came from behind to beat struggling Kariobangi Sharks FC 3-1 at the Kasarani Stadium on Friday afternoon. 

The victory saw the brewers reduce Gor Mahia FC's lead at the top of the standings to only one point, with the record champions out of action this week due to four of their players being away on national duty.

Sharks, who have not won a game since October when they beat basement side Chemelil Sugar FC 2-0, opened the scoring in the 40th minute courtesy of Kevin Tom Machika.

Former Gor midfielder George 'Blackberry' Odhiambo came off the bench and revitalised the Tusker attack before getting the equaliser in the 69th. 

Namanda got the first of his brace ten minutes later and it seemed to take the life out of the SportPesa Cup winners as he sealed all there points in the 88th minute after some nice play from the midfield. 

Tusker remain second with 24 points, one adrift of leaders Gor whilst Sharks are second from bottom with eight points having only managed one win the entire campaign. 

The later kick off saw Bandari FC take on Wazito FC at the Mbaraki Stadium.
