Kenyan student lands lucrative 2024 Paris Olympic Games job

The 2024 Paris Olympic Games is scheduled to kick off on Friday, July 26.
- Moya is set to work as a translator at the eagerly anticipated games.
- Moya studies Diploma in International Relations course at the higher learning institution.Her place of work will be at the Olympic Village.
- A number of Kenya teams including Shujaa and Malkia Strikers have already qualified for the event.
The Technical University of Kenya student Catherine Moya is
one of the luckiest women in the country at the moment.
Moya, who is pursuing a Diploma in International Relations
at the learning institution domiciled in Nairobi, has been employed as a
translator for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games.
According to information released by the university, she is expected to work at the place where competitors will reside.

“Catherine Moya, a TU-K student who is an English Language assistant in France has been appointed to help in translation and interpretation at the Olympic Village in France.
Athletes, officials among other personalities taking part in
the upcoming Olympics in July have already travelled for the preparations and
participation in the global event,” part of the statement from TUK read.
The communique added that TUK has already sent over 30 students
to France to help teach English since 2019 with the institution receiving 3
French language tutors in the exchange program.
The much-awaited event is expected to run between Friday, July 26 and Sunday, August 11 in Paris.
Kenya will be represented by various teams including multiple African champions Malkia Strikers and the men’s national rugby 7s side Shujaa.
Moreover, Germany-born Kenyan Fencer Alexandra Ndolo has
already booked a ticket to the summer games with the fast-rising tennis queen
Angela Okutoyi also seeking qualify for the event for the first time in
history.
Besides fencing, rugby and volleyball, the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) will also send a contingent of runners to the games.

The body has already named a strong men’s and women’s provisional
marathon squad that has the likes of former world record holders Eliud Kipchoge
and Brigid Kosgei.
Kosgei, who will be aiming to bag her first ever Olympic
Games title, headlines the squad that also has the defending champion Peres
Jepchirchir, Ruth Chepngetich, Hellen Obiri, Rosemary Wanjiru and one-time New
York City Marathon winner Sharon Lokedi.
On the other hand, debutants Alexander Munyao, Timothy Kiplagat, Vincent Ngetich, and Benson Kipruto will work together with Kipchoge to bring glory to Kenya.
