NAIROBI, Kenya- Robert Matano’s Tusker FC resume Kenya Premier League (KPL) action on Sunday hoping to reduce the point gap between them and leaders Gor Mahia FC.

The brewers, who are on a 13-match unbeaten streak, welcome Wazito FC to the Ruaraka Stadium at 3pm and will need Zoo FC to avoid defeat against Gor at the Kericho Green Stadium.

Gor lead the standings with 45 points after 20 games, four ahead of Tusker and third place Kakamega Homeboyz FC.

Homeboyz will take on a Chemelil Sugar FC who are full of confidence after a 2-1 win against Posta Rangers FC, only their second of the season to bring their dismal tally to nine points.

The game at the Bukhungu Stadium is very important for January Fidelity Insurance Coach of the Month winner Nicholas Muyoti, as they seek to keep up the pace with the top two KPL clubs.

Also, on Sunday, fifth place Ulinzi Stars FC host lowly Kisumu All Stars FC at the Afraha Stadium, banking on a win as they have gone three games without one.

The newcomers are at the bottom of the table with eight points after 19 games, making it likely that they will be relegated back into the National Super League (NSL).

Bandari FC finally hired a manager and the prodigal son Ken Odhiambo gets his first taste of KPL action on Saturday at 2pm when the dockers host Mathare United FC.

Odhiambo took over from former Harambee Stars coach Twahir Muhiddin who resumes his technical director roles at the club.

Bandari are in 11th place with 23 points having avoided defeat in their last three encounters and go up against the slum boys who are in ninth with 29.

Kenya Commercial Bank FC (KCB) suffered back to back losses for the first time this season against Kariobangi Sharks FC and Bandari but remain in fourth place with 38 points.

Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno’s bankers take to the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos in the first of a double header against 10th place Posta Rangers FC.

The second match slated for the same venue is a nail-biting contest and arguably the game of the weekend as AFC Leopards SC battle it out against Sofapaka FC.

The resurgent Leopards are coming off a 1-0 defeat to Tusker, their fourth of the season and take on a Batoto Ba Mungu side that has managed two wins in their last seven games.

Leopards lost their talisman and current KPL top scorer John Mark Makwatta to Zesco United FC of Zambia and need to find a new source of goals if they are to challenge for the elusive league title.
