Highly rated Levin Odhiambo joins Gor Mahia on a free transfer, bids farewell to Tusker

Highly-rated defender Levin Odhiambo has signed a dream deal with record Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions Gor Mahia FC.

The move comes after the expiration of his contract with Ruaraka-based side Tusker FC on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

The talented left-back was on the verge of joining K’Ogalo, who currently sit at the top of the FKFPL table, in the January transfer window but Tusker were not willing to sell him unless they received a good offer.

According to reliable reports, Tusker FC wanted Ksh 3,000,000 in order to allow Odhiambo to leave the club.

Gor Mahia, who were one of the clubs interested in his signature had put Ksh 120,000 on the table, but the Brewers refused to do business with them.

Therefore, Odhiambo was forced to stay at Tusker and finish his contract before sealing his dream move to Gor Mahia on Monday, April 1 as a free agent.

Reacting after ending his spell with Tusker FC, Odhiambo wrote an emotional post on his social media platform, thanking the Brewers’ fraternity for the role they played in his career.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Tusker FC, from the management, the technical bench, and my teammates. You have all been kind to me and I will keep all the memories we shared.

You will always be in my heart. Special thanks to the fans for your support every day. I wish you all the best in your future matches and may God bless you all," his Facebook post read.

Odhiambo has previously had stints with several clubs in the country including Wazito FC, Mathare United and Kayole Youth.

At Gor Mahia, the player, who can also be deployed as an offensive winger, is expected to reunite with his former Wazito FC teammate Rooney Onyango.
