Tottenham Hotspur kept alive their hopes of a top four English Premier League finish with a 3-0 whitewash of 10-man London rivals Arsenal on Thursday night.

Harry Kane scored twice in the first half before Son Heung-Min scored his 21st league goal of the season two minutes after the break.

The victory brings Antonio Conte's side to within a point of Arsenal with 65 and could still have a way into the UEFA Champions League next season.

Kane put Spurs ahead in the 22nd minute from the spot after Cedric Soares was penalized for pushing Son in the box.

Rob Holding was sent off in the 33rd minute after being booked twice in the space of 7 minutes and left the Gunners with an uphill task.

It was Arsenal's first dismissal since Gabriel Martinelli was given his marching orders in the away win at Wolves in February, taking their tally to 16 red cards, the highest total of any Premier League side.

It was not long before Kane headed home his second after Rodrigo Bentancur flicked on a corner to give them a comfortable half time lead.

The England captain has now scored 12 goals against Arsenal in the London derby, a goal record he shares with former Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney.

Spurs still have Burnley and Norwich to play, while Arsenal have tricky fixtures against Newcastle United and relegation-threatened Everton.

Arsenal will be hoping to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since the 2016/17 season.
