“Kenyan Erick Otieno has joined Rakow Czestochowa on a permanent transfer from Swedish AIK. The 27-year-old midfielder's contract will run until the end of December 2026 with an option to extend for a further two years,” a statement from the club read.

“We are pleased to announce that Erick Otieno is our second winter signing of the season. Erick has been a standout player in his position in recent years in Sweden. Now the opportunity has come for him to join us,” Rakow sporting director Samuel Cárdenas commented on the transfer.

“Erick is a player who fits perfectly with our philosophy. He's fast, he's aggressive and he's always playing with intensity. Thanks to his characteristics in playing with the ball and playing evenly with both feet, it will be an option for both sides as a shuttle in our system.

We are looking forward to seeing Erick in our jersey as he is eager to fight for more titles and prove his worth on the European stage," Cárdenas added.

Marcelo started his senior career at Gor Mahia FC before joining Georgian side Kolkheti-1913 in January 2017 where he made 20 appearances. A year later he moved to KS Kastrioti. However, he did not play any matches in Albania, and in July 2018 he was transferred to the third division from Sweden - Vasalunds IF.

The Kenyan's good attitude was rewarded with a transfer to AIK, with whom he signed a contract in January 2020. There he appeared in 103 games, scoring 4 goals and recording 15 assists. Erick also has 38 caps for the Kenyan national team on his resume.
