NAIROBI, Kenya- Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi has been handed a two-match ban by the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup committee after his side beat Tanzania 1-0 in the opening game on Sunday afternoon.

Kimanzi will not be on the touchline for Kenya's remaining Group B matches after he was suspended for allegedly inciting his players not to honour the fixture due to discrepancies with the Tanzania squad.

Apparently some of the Kilimanjaro Stars players did not have passports during the pre-match check up and the former Mathare United FC did not take lightly to the issue.

CECAFA also reprimanded his assistant and Kenya Commercial Bank FC (KCB) coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno for unprofessionalism and he will also be sidelined for the games.

Bandari FC's Abdallah Hassan scored the only goal of the game in the fourth minute with a wicked strike and Harambee Stars held on for all three points.

Kenya will continue their title defence without their coach when they take to the field on Tuesday for a match against Sudan and then the match against Zanzibar two days later at the Lugogo Complex in Kampala.
