Record Kenya Premier League winners Gor Mahia are confident they can make it back to back wins when they take on Bidco United on Saturday afternoon.

Gor Mahia kicked off their campaign on the front foot with a labored 1-0 victory against Nzoia FC last weekend at Nyayo Stadium courtesy of a Benson Omalla goal.

Omalla had been in good goal-scoring form during the extended pre-season and his sole goal was enough to give new head coach Jonathan McKinstry a winning start.

Gor will be away at Bidco and the game will kick off at 4pm at the Thika County Stadium.

Head coach Jonathan McKinstry has expressed his satisfaction with the preparations this week as they prepare to take on the embryonic league leaders.

"The week has gone well and after last weekend's win, the boys have recovered well and everyone looks good to go.

"It's been a solid week of training and preparations have been smooth so we are all set to take on Bidco and go after maximum points," McKinstry stated.

Gor went on the pitch last week donning their new green Umbro jerseys that were launched in a glitzy affair by their main club sponsors, SportPesa.

The two reunited in a titanic three-year partnership deal which makes SportPesa their main shirt sponsor in a deal that is worth KSHs 80 million a season.

Gor captain Philemon Otieno was also brimming confidence ahead of the Saturday afternoon clash and called upon their fans to turn up and give the players support.

"We have trained well this week and we are confident that we will bag all 3 points to maintain our winning start to the new season.

"I'm calling upon all our fans to show up and support the boys, as always we will give it our all so we can give them the performance they deserve," Otieno stated.

Bidco, who have never beaten Gor Mahia before, are sitting at the top of the KPL table after match day one after registering a commendable 2-0 victory against City Stars.

Goals from David Gateri and Henry Juma in the first half set them on the way to an opening day victory.
