NAIROBI, Kenya- Former World Boxing Council Cruiserweight Champion Tony Bellew has pitted his countryman Tyson Fury to win the highly anticipated rematch against Deontay Wilder on Saturday, February 22.

The Las Vegas showdown comes over a year after a thrilling draw in 2018, where Fury was knocked down twice but found a way back to ensure the judges voted in favor of a stalemate.

The 31-year old Brit is 29-0 with one drawn and 20 knockouts while Wilder enters 42-0 with one drawn and 41 knockouts.

“I believe that Tyson Fury has what it takes to get the job done this time. I thought he had it last time, but the judges did not side with me.

“I think he will pick up where he left off in that dramatic 12th round where he received a heavy knock down, found a way back and actually finished the round stronger,” SportPesa brand ambassador Bellew stated.

Fight promoter Bob Arum said victory would seal Fury’s place among such all-time heavyweight legends as Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield.

Fury went ahead to back up prior comments saying he would knock out Wilder in the second round, saying he felt he needed a knockout to keep the outcome from the hands of the judges.

"Won't have to wait long to find out, will we? We'll see if I'm man enough to back it up.

"My own destiny lies within my own two fists. I'll be letting them fly very aggressively," Fury underscored.

World heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder ridiculed Fury's punching power as the two unbeaten fighters prepare for their eagerly anticipated rematch 14 months after the two men battled to a thrilling draw in Los Angeles.

“I think Deontay (Wilder) will really struggle this time due to Fury’s great boxing ability.

“I’m going for a Fury win via a late knockout or point victory,” Bellew concluded.
