Chelsea remain three points clear atop the English Premier League table despite playing out to a 1-1 draw against Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Matej Vydra's equalizer was only the fourth goal that the Blues have conceded after 11 matches this season, the best defensive record in the English top flight.

Manchester City moved up to second place on the log after a comprehensive 2-0 victory over city rivals United.

Pep Guardiola's side have 23 points, level with third place West Ham, who ended Liverpool's 12-match away unbeaten run in an enthralling 3-2 victory.

Arsenal extended their unbeaten run in the league to eight games with a 1-0 victory over Watford, courtesy of an Emile Smith-Rowe goal.

Only 20 goals were scored over the weekend and here SportPesa News has a look at the top five things we learned in matchday 11.

THE HAMMERS ARE ON FIRE

David Moyes's side was fantastic to watch over the weekend as they battled to inflict the first defeat of the season for Liverpool.

An Alisson own goal got them off the mark before a Trent Alexander-Arnold goal before halftime got the reds level.

Pablo Fornals and a thunderous Kurt Zouma header was enough to make Divock Origi's goal only a consolation.

The result means West Ham have won four games in a row to bring their total wins for the season to 7 and they have only lost twice.

They moved up to third place with 23 points and look on course to book a place in Europe for next season.

PALACE RISE CONTINUES

Patrick Vieira's Palace look to be a completely new team and their steady rise up the EPL table after a convincing 2-0 victory against Wolves.

This was their second successive win after yet another remarkable 2-0 win against champions Man City.

Crystal Palace are now unbeaten in five matches and are in 10th place with 15 points.

They still have their counter-attacking threat, but Palace are so much more than that under Vieira.

EVERTON ARE ON A DOWNWARD SPIRAL

The Toffees are on a wretched run of form that has not seen them win a game from the last five matches, losing three times in that run.

Over the weekend, they were lucky to come out with a point from a barren draw against Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur.

They have only won 4 games this season and are in 11th place with 15 points.

The absence of their last season's top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin has clearly been a factor as they have scored (16) times, as many as they have conceded.

The pressure is on now for Rafael Benitez as the fans have began to become impatient.

CHELSEA NEED A FIT FORWARD

Despite avoiding defeat and remaining on top of the English Premier League table, there are too many wasted chances by Thomas Tuchel's side.

Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the game, yet another one that they had to play without a traditional forward to provide the goals with Romelu Lukaku still injured.

The Blues had 25 goal attempts but only managed to score once, something that may cause them a huge problem when they go up against a top team.

THE BEES STOPPED BUZZING

After an admirable start to their debut EPL campaign, Brentford seem to have lost their way after a fourth successive defeat over the weekend.

They lost 2-1 to Norwich City, who prior to this had not won a single match this season.

The recent run of defeats has seen them drop 6 places to 14th with 12 points.

Ivan Toney, who was their top scorer in the Championship last season, has not scored in four matches and needs to rediscover his form if Brentford are to survive relegation this season.
