Chelsea continue to show their intent to win the English Premier League title as they opened up a three-point gap between them and second place Liverpool.

The Blues beat Newcastle United comfortably 3-0 on Saturday at St. James' Park courtesy of a spectacular brace from Reece James and a Jorginho penalty.

They remain on top of the table with 25 points after their fourth straight victory, three points ahead of Liverpool who were held to a 2-2 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion.

A total of 27 goals were scored over the weekend, with only one match left to be played as Wolves host Everton on Monday night at the Molineux.

Newcastle and Norwich City remain the only teams in the top flight who remain without a win this season.

ARSENAL LOOKING BRAND NEW

Mikel Arteta's side have fully transformed and look like a brand new side after they stretched their unbeaten run to six games.

The Gunners registered an impressive away victory at Leicester City, beating them 2-0 courtesy of goals from Gabriel and Emile Smith-Rowe.

The win lifted Arsenal to sixth place on the league table with 17 points, level with Manchester United who boast a better goal difference.

With a home tie against Watford up next for Arsenal, they can better their record and jump into the top five for the first time this season.

BURNLEY FINALLY WIN

Prior to the weekend's fixtures, Sean Dyche's side were part of the teams that had not registered a win in the 2021/22 season.

They put on a show and cruised to a 3-1 victory against Brentford, condemning them to their third straight defeat in their debut season in the top flight.

First half goals from Chris Wood, Matthew Lowton and Maxwell Cornet put daylight between them and Brentford, who prior to this run were enjoying a dream EPL start.

Despite the victory, Burnley are still in the relegation zone in 18th with seven points.

PATRICK VIEIRA IMPRESSES

Crystal Palace registered their biggest league win in recent times and stretched their unbeaten run to five games with a 2-0 victory against Manchester City.

City were reduced to 10 men in the 45th minute after Aymeric Laporte was sent off for a professional foul on goalscorer Wilfried Zaha.

Connor Gallagher then put the final nail in the City coffin with a goal in the 88th minute to seal Palace's second league win of the campaign.

In a game that was Pep Guardiola's 200th EPL match in charge, Zaha became the first Palace player to score 50 goals for the club.

CHELSEA DOING FINE WITHOUT A STRIKER

The Blues are not letting up and showed more intent with a blistering second half performance that saw them condemn Newcastle to their sixth defeat in 10 games.

Record-signing Romelu Lukaku has been injured but the Blues don't seem to be missing him as they continued with their fine goal-scoring form.

Chelsea have now scored 26 league goals and just let in three, the fewest by any club in five of Europe's top leagues.

In their four-match winning streak, they have scored 14 times and conceded just once in a 3-1 victory against Southampton.

KANE STILL ABSENT FOR SPURS

Harry Kane is currently having his worst start to a league campaign, with only one goal to his name in 10 matches so far.

Tottenham failed to register a shot on target throughout their 3-0 defeat to Manchester United and Kane is looking like a Championship forward.

With the usually reliable forward misfiring for Spurs, the pressure is increasing on coach Nuno Espirito Santo after two successive defeats.

Spurs are now in eighth place with 15 points, ten off the leaders Chelsea.
