Derrick Otanga scored a brace on Friday afternoon as KCB FC battled to a 2-0 victory over Wazito FC at the Kasarani Stadium.

This was the bankers third victory in a row and the result saw them shoot up to fifth place with 11 points on the Kenya Premier League table.

Otanga opened the scoring in the fifth minute of the game to give Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno's an early lead.

In the 10th minute, Wazito should have drawn level when Vincent Oburu ran into a cross from Eric Otieno, but his left footed curler went over the bar.

KCB were playing fast off the back with James Mazembe causing all manner of trouble for his former Kariobangi Sharks teammate at John Kuol, making his debut for Wazito.

After the break, KCB doubled their lead in the 53rd minute and it was that man Otanga again who finished off a deadly counter attack.

KCB continued to dominate the game throughout the half and a couple of chances went abegging as they failed to extend their already comfortable lead.

The defeat means that Wazito remain without a win this season and are languishing in 17th place with just two points from their opening six games.

Both teams will be out of action for the next two weeks due to the international break.
