Cristiano Ronaldo was the hero again as Manchester United came from behind twice to salvage a 2-2 draw against Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium.

Ronaldo scored at the end of both halves to ensure that United remain top of Group F with 7 points after four matches.

Josip Ilicic put the hosts ahead but it was even at the break after Ronaldo's first equalizer in the added time at the end of the first half.

Colombian Duván Zapata restored Atalanta's lead in the 56th minute after finding space between Harry Maguire and the returning Eric Bailly.

Just as it seemed as though they had done enough for the win, Ronaldo popped up with a superb volley in the 92nd minute of the game to0 snatch a point for the Red Devils.

This extended his record of scoring in every Champions League group stage game this season as Ronaldo continues his unmatched antics in this competition.

United are level on points with second-place Villarreal whilst Atalanta remain in third place with 5 points.

Villarreal were also 2-0 winners on the night, condemning Young Boys to a third straight defeat, and they remain rooted to the bottom with 3 points.

Ettiene Capuoe and Arnaut Danjuma scored both goals for the Spanish outfit, who need to avoid defeat if they are to qualify for the last 16.

Elsewhere in Group G, Lille upset Sevilla 2-1 to record their first away victory in the Champions League for nine years.

Lucas Ocampos put Sevilla ahead in the first half but a Jonathan David penalty was followed by a Jonathan Ikone effort to gift the French champions all three points.

Sevilla remain bottom of the group with 3 points while Lille climb up to second place with 5 points, level with third place Wolfsburg.

Ridle Baku and Lukas Nnmecha each scored as Wolfsburg battled to a 2-1 victory over group leaders RB Salzburg earlier in the night.
