NAIROBI, Kenya- SportPesa Premier League (SPL) champions Gor Mahia FC return to domestic duty as they prepare to go up against Mathare United FC on Wednesday afternoon in a tricky midweek encounter.

Gor are currently in second place with 15 points, one adrift of leaders Tusker FC but the record league winners have five games in hand and look on course to win a third consecutive title.

Their opponents Mathare are unbeaten in five matches and are in ninth on the SPL log with 11 points.

Gor and Bandari FC did not feature in last weekend's fixtures as they were both eliminated from the CAF Confederations Cup after losses to DC Motema Pembe and AS Horoya FC respectively.

Bandari will also be on SPL duty tomorrow (Wednesday) as they travel for an away match against 10th place Western Stima FC.

The dockers, who have finished in second place for two seasons running, have the chance to go into the weekend in fourth if they register a win against the power men.

Stima are also unbeaten in five outings and will need to be in top form if they are to contain Bernard Mwalala's charges as they look to blow off steam from the 1-0 home loss to Horoya over the weekend.
