NAIROBI, Kenya- After enthralling SportPesa Premier League (SPL) midweek action that saw Sony Sugar FC relegated and a total of 22 goals scored, action resumes on Sunday as leaders Gor Mahia FC take on Bandari FC.

The champions and runners-up for the last two seasons will lock horns on Sunday at the Mbaraki Stadium as Gor seek to widen the two-point gap they currently have at the top of the standings.

Bandari have not had it easy in recent weeks, only managing one win in the last five outings whilst Gor are fresh off a 3-0 demolition of Kakamega Homeboyz FC.

Homeboyz are on course to bag three points this weekend as the status of the sugar millers still is not clear after they handed Zoo FC a third walkover of the season on Wednesday.

Eighth place AFC Leopards SC played out to a thrilling 2-2 draw against Bandari on Thursday afternoon and resume action on Sunday with a match against Kisumu All Stars FC.

The newcomers climbed out of the relegation zone in midweek after a 2-0 win against Wazito FC, who sacked Egyptian-American coach Melis Medo shortly after the game in Kisumu.

Medo had only been in charge of Wazito for three matches, and after one win and two losses, new owner Ricardo Badoer sent him packing.

Wazito will be under the temporary charge of former coach Frank Ouma when they take on struggling Kariobangi Sharks FC on Monday afternoon.

Second place Ulinzi Stars FC will be hoping to remain hot on Gor Mahia's heels as they host another hapless side in Nzoia Sugar FC on Sunday afternoon.

Kenya Commercial Bank FC (KCB), who have had a stellar start to the 2019/20 season are in third place and on a six-match unbeaten streak, they will face Western Stima FC in the last game of the weekend.
