Cristiano Ronaldo set yet another record on Tuesday evening as he scored a hat-trick to inspire Portugal's 5-0 demolition of Luxembourg.

The Manchester United forward scored two penalties early in the game to give Portugal a 2-0 lead within the opening 13 minutes.

He rounded up the scoring with an 87th minute header, completing his 58th hat-trick for club and country.

His United teammate Bruno Fernandes was also on the scoresheet as well as Palhinha as Portugal remain second in Group A with 16 points, one behind leaders Serbia.

Portugal have however played a game less and will play the Republic of Ireland in their penultimate Group match before facing Serbia.

Ronaldo has now scored 115 goals for his country, the most by any other player ever.

He surpassed Iran's Ali Daei's record of 109 goals las month and does not look like he is about to pump the brakes as he continues to show ultimate football supremacy.
