MOMBASA, Kenya- Last season’s SportPesa Premier League (SPL) runners up Bandari FC staged a dramatic comeback to beat Zoo FC 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the Mbaraki Stadium.

Bandari are playing in midweek because they had a triumphant CAF Confederations Cup weekend, beating Ben Guerdane of Tunisia 2-0 at the Kasarani Stadium.

SPL Champions Gor Mahia FC will be in action tomorrow (Thursday) away to Chemelil Sugar FC at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Zoo began the game well and found themselves 2-0 up in the first half courtesy of a brilliant Collins Neto brace.

Bernard Mwalala’s charges had other plans and the dockers showed that they are picking up where they left off and are 2019/20 SPL title contenders.

The half time team talked brought instant results as Danson Namasaka’s long-range effort launched the Bandari comeback before Yema Mwama restored parity three minutes later.

The fans, who were being treated to the first home game of the new season, were given reason to scream as substitute ‘Messi’ Agege got the winning goal in the 74th minute.

The hard-earned win leaves Bandari in fourth on the SPL log with four points whilst Zoo FC are in seventh, a point less than the dockers.

Zoo will host 2016 SPL Champions Tusker FC on Saturday as Bandari travel to Awendo to battle it out against eighth-place Sony Sugar FC.
