AFC Leopards' Rwandese striker Arthur Gitego has cast doubt on his future at AFC Leopards after revealing his transfer plans.

Speaking to the New Times of Rwanda, Gitego hinted at the possibility of ditching the FKF Premier side for a greener pasture come the end of the season after only joining in January.

"My goal is that, in June, I would like to change the team but of course, it has to be a top team. I would love to go somewhere higher because everything is possible if you pray, fight, believe and wait for a chance.

I understand that I will not end my contract here because I am confident that a team, a good team, will come and buy my contract," Gitego was quoted by the New Times.

With his eyes set on securing a lucrative move to a top club, Gitego however vowed to continue helping Ingwe in their quest to return to their former glory and exert dominance in the local league.

Gitego joined AFC Leopards in January from Rwandese side Marine FC.  He’s so far scored 4 goals for the Leopards – 3 in the FKF Cup and 1 in the FKF-PL.

“Words can’t explain how happy I am when I score. I want to keep working hard so that I can get the chance to score more goals for my club," Gitego insisted.

“The target is to improve my game and I am looking forward to playing in Europe where football is more advanced and can change you into a top player. It is my dream to play there and I have to work for it."

He spoke to the publication after receiving a call-up to represent his Rwandese national team. This was the fifth time Gitego had earned a spot in the national team.

“It is a very big opportunity for my career to score a hat-trick. It was not my first appearance but I am very happy to score my first three goals and I think it is the beginning," he stated after winning the match ball.

“I expected it before because it was my game to prove that I can play at a high level because I came from my country. I am a foreigner here. I have to fight and to push more. I also have to make my body fitter and fight hard to win.”

Ever since, he has been instrumental in the AFC Leopards attack causing havoc in the opponents' box. His display at the club earned him a national call for games against Madagascar and Botswana in the three-nation tournament.
