- Vihiga United FC edged Chemelil Sugar FC 2-1 at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega to pull away from the SportPesa Premier League (SPL) relegation zone on Saturday evening
- The victory moved Vihiga to 16th on 24 points while Chemelil dipped to 14th on 29th

KAKAMEGA, Kenya- Vihiga United FC edged Chemelil Sugar FC 2-1 at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega to pull away from the SportPesa Premier League (SPL) relegation zone on Saturday evening.
Chemelil who are also determined to escape the axe, took an early lead in the 37th minute but this was short lived as the hosts took advantage of their laxity on resumption to pump in two goals in the 67th and 90th minutes.
The victory moved Vihiga to 16th on 24 points while Chemelil dipped to 14th on 29th.
