KERICHO, Kenya- Tusker FC moved up to third on the SportPesa Premier League (SPL) standings after edging Zoo Kericho FC 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. 

Timothy Otieno’s 36th minute goal proved to be the defining moment of the game as Robert Matano’s charges went level on points (22) with second place Gor Mahia FC and fourth place Bandari FC. 

Following the second successive defeat after going down to newcomers Western Stima FC by a similar margin , Zoo are in 13th with 11 points.

Gor have a game in hand but Tusker will be pleased with the result that brought them back to winning ways following a 1-1 draw against Bandari last week. 

The Brewers next assignment will be a home fixture against Allan Wanga’s Kakamega Homeboyz FC next Saturday, whilst Zoo will take on league leaders Mathare the following day. 

Only goal difference separates Gor, Tusker and Bandari with Mathare leading the pack by a three-point margin making the title race a hotly contested one indeed.
