NAIROBI, Kenya- Tusker FC rallied from behind to edge stubborn Chemelil Sugar FC 2-1 at Ruaraka Stadium in Nairobi on Wednesday to storm into SportPesa Premier League third place.

Biko Tindi scored to give Chemelil a 0-1 lead in the 25th minute but Mike Madoya leveled for the brewers  in the 42nd to put the scores 1-1 at half time.

Boniface Muchiri stretched Tusker’s tally to 2-1 in the 83rd.The hosts warded off threatening attempts by the visitors to find the back of the net in the last minutes.

The victory  saw Tusker exclipse Western Stima FC in third place where they are now perched with 17 points after five wins,two draws and two losses.Chemelil dipped to 15th with seven after two victories, one draw and six losses.

At the same time, basement side Mt. Kenya United FC  held Ulinzi Stars FC 1-1 at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani in Nairobi on the day.

John Ndirangu put United ahead in the  43rd but this  was cancelled by Ulinzi’s Justine Onwonga who levelled in the 90th.Despite the draw, United are still  stuck at the bottom of the table with three while Ulinzi are ninth with 11.

Captain Stephen Waruru was on target in the 65th  as Sofapaka FC piped Posta Rangers FC  0-1 at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
