LIVERPOOL, United Kingdom- Moise Kean says he has joined an “exceptional Everton team” - and the striker is determined to repay his warm welcome from supporters by starring on the pitch.

Teenager Kean completed his transfer to Goodison Park from Juventus on Sunday after scoring eight goals in 21 appearances for the Italian champions.

He started training with his teammates at USM Finch Farm on Monday ahead of Everton’s Premier League opening-day meeting with Crystal Palace this weekend.

A crowdfunding platform launched by Evertonians to pay for a banner condemning racism and supporting Kean – who answered abuse in a match against Cagliari last season by scoring and celebrating in pointed fashion – crashed through its £1,000 target inside 24 hours.

“That is beautiful because racism is horrendous,” said Kean.

“We have to fight hard against racism and I’m going to repay the fans for all they do for me.

“I’m feeling even more motivated and more willing to repay them.

“I’m training at 100 per cent of my ability and giving the maximum I can.

“Fans should be repaid on the pitch and I want to play the best I can for them.”

Kean was presented with an Everton shirt for his mother Isabel by director of football Marcel Brands on the day of the player’s unveiling.

Equally, he has swiftly integrated into his new dressing room. And Kean’s eyes now are fixed firmly on what he can deliver for his new club.

Everton have also added the midfield trio of Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin, along with goalkeeper Jonas Lossl, ahead of starting their 2019/20 campaign at Palace on Saturday.

Marco Silva’s side play their first home game against Watford seven days later and also tackle Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers before next month’s international break.

“It has been a very emotional time, it was a great gesture [from Brands] and I’ve felt at home straight away,” added Kean, who will hope to add to his three Italy caps in European Championship qualifiers against Armenia and Finland in September.

“The team is a family and I’m very, very happy and feeling very well.

“The staff is very good, the team is exceptional. They’ve welcomed me as a companion and I’m very grateful. I’m going to repay them by giving 100 per cent.

“Everton is looking to the future and so am I, so I see myself in this team. I like to help my teammates, always giving 100 per cent to reach our targets.”
