- Harambee Stars international Joash Onyango, who formed a rock-solid partnership in the heart of the Gor defense alongside the exiting Shakava, was handed the onus to deputize the new captain
NAIROBI, Kenya- Kenneth Muguna has been named the new captain of Gor Mahia FC following
the departure of Harun Shakava, who is on his way to Zambian outfit Nkana FC.

Steven George Pollack and his assistant Patrick Odhiambo.
Muguna returned to
Gor last season following a failed stint in Albania for league side FK Tirana,
which is managed by former K’Ogalo tactician Jose Ferreira alias Ze Maria.
Harambee Stars

“We can confirm that
Kenneth Muguna is the new captain of Gor Mahia Football Club. We want to wish
him the best as he takes on this great responsibility,” the club communicated
on its social media platforms on Friday afternoon.
Muguna first joined
Gor in 2017 from fellow SportPesa Premier League (SPL) outfit Western Stima FC,
where he played alongside his Vice Captain Onyango.
Aside from the technical
bench, Gor also unveiled 16 new signings who will be a part of the first team
for the 2019/20 SPL season.
The record league
winners will kick off their title defense on Sunday, September 1 against 2016
winners Tusker FC, who recently acquired the services of long-serving Gor
winger George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo on a two-year deal.
