Opati Storms Muthaiga Leaderboard, Snow Holds On To Lead

Two-time winner in the Safari Tour golf series takes his tournament total to five-under 137 to maintain the overall charge ahead of third day

NAIROBI, Kenya- Greg Snow returned a decent score of one-under 70 on Round Two of the Muthaiga leg of the Safari Tour golf series to take his tournament total to five-under 137 to maintain the overall lead on the end of the second day of action. 

On the first nine, he dropped shots at the first, second and sixth holes but made amends with birdies on the seventh and eighth for 38. On the back nine, he hit birdies on the 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th with a single bogey on the 16th taking his total to 32.

Meanwhile, Windsor Golf and Country Club’s, David Opati, returned an impressive five-under 66, for three-Under 139 to climb to second on the leaderboard going into Round Three. 

On the first nine, he dropped shots on the Par-three fifth and the Par-4 sixth, but made amends with birdies on the Par-4 third and the Par-5 fourth for 36.

Its on the back nine that he upped the ante to start off with an eagle on the Par-5 10th followed by birdies on the 15th, 17th and 18th for a blemish-free total of 30.

David Odhiambo maintained his decent form to finish the round at two-over 73, for a total of level par 142; enough to cement third going into Tuesday's third round. 

On Monday 27 players made the cut - which was set at 12-over - for the final two rounds.

Four amateurs; Akshay Chandaria, Mutahi Kibugu, Edwin Mudanyi and Zubair Khan are among those who will be battling it out for the top honours when Day 3 tees off at 8:00am.
