Magical Kenya Open Qualifier Set To Tee Off In April

The Safari Tour Golf Series which players will use to make a cut for the 2020 championships will have 12 legs spread across East Africa region

  • Migliozzi  returned a score of 2-under par 69 in round four for a total of 14-under par 268 to emerge  2019 Kenya Open Golf champion at the weekend

NAIROBI, Kenya-  The 2019/2020 Safari Tour Golf Series  is set to tee off  next month following conclusion of this years Magical Kenya Open Championship which was bagged by 22-year-old Italian professional golfer, Guido Migliozzi at Karen Golf and Country Club in Nairobi on Sunday.

Kenya will use the tour circuit to qualify players who will represent the country in next year’s Kenya Open competition.

“Plans are underway to make the series regional as we have extended invite to other East African players to strengthen the game in the location,” Kenya Open Golf Limited chairman Peter Kanyago underlined.

“ The tournament which starts in April will feature 12 legs spread across Kenya and other East African states.

“It is our conviction that the continued improvement of this event will help local and regional players excel in the Kenya Open in the near future,” Kanyago highlighted.

The inagural Safari Tour Golf Series on August 2018  was won by Muthaiga Club golfer Greg Snow who failed to make the cut in the Kenya Open this year.

Snow was among the 12 professionals and six amateurs who flew Kenya’s flag in the contest that attracted 144 players from a cross the globe.

Migliozzi won the global tournament after he returned a score of 2-under par 69 in round four for a total of 14-under par 268 at the weekend.
