Limuru Hosts Safari Golf Series With Indiza On Lead

The Mumias ace commands the log with 38 points after Nyali and Vet Lab legs
- Mumias hard hitter, Dismas Indiza,is looking forward to carry on with the lead in the third leg of Safari Tour Golf Series that heads to par 72 Limuru Golf Club in Kiambu County on Sunday
- Hot on his heels are Muthaiga Golf Club home guard, Greg Snow, who lifted the Vet Lab competition and David Wakhu, the winner of Nyali challenge
- Other elites who will be combing the greens and fairways at Limuru are C.J Wangai, Justus Madoya, former Kenya Open runners-up Jacob Okello, Kopan Timbe, Riz Charania, David Opati and Nelson Simwa
NAIROBI, Kenya- Mumias hard hitter, Dismas Indiza,is looking forward to carry on with the lead in the third leg of Safari Tour Golf Series that heads to par 72 Limuru Golf Club in Kiambu County on Sunday.
Indiza currently leads the log with 38 points after finishing runners-up in the opening circuit in Nyali (Mombasa) in August and in the second circuit held at Vet Lab in Nairobi in September.
“We are excited to once again host players from the East Africa region as we look forward to a highly competitive five days of golf.
“So far over 43 professionals have confirmed their participation for Limuru, among them are two entrants from Uganda and one from Tanzania,” Kenya Open Golf Limited chairman and tournament director, Patrick Obath, underlined.
Hot on Indiza’s heels are Muthaiga Golf Club home guard, Greg Snow, who lifted the Vet Lab competition and David Wakhu, the winner of Nyali challenge.
Indiza and Snow needed a three-hole playoff round to separate them at Vet Lab, with the latter holding on to his nerves to be crowned the winner.
The field of 43 who have registered for the Limuru event includes Tanzanian Nuru Molel and Philip Kasozi of Uganda.
Kasozi played at Vet Lab alongside his Ugandan compatriot Abbey Bagalana who will be making his second appearance in the series in Limuru.
Other elites who will be combing the greens and the fairways are C.J Wangai, Justus Madoya, former Kenya Open runners-up Jacob Okello, Kopan Timbe, Riz Charania, David Opati and Nelson Simwa.
World beaters
The tournament has been preceded with a golf clinic at the venue on Friday and a Pro-Am contest on Saturday. The main event slated to tee off on Sunday will run till Wednesday when the final round will be played.
“We are very excited to see how the series is carrying on, already we have two different winners and still expecting more surprising results in the coming rounds.
“We hope to get a competitive team who will be world beaters in the 2019 Barclays Kenya Open Championships at the Karen Country and Golf Club on March 14 to 17 2019,” Obath underlined.
