Leopards SC skinned Tusker 2-1 to pull further away from the relegation zone. Both sides earned a red card in the ill tempered match that saw Leopards rise to 14th on 16 points following their second successive SPL win in a row.

Tusker (22) who announced earlier in the week they were withdrawing from the 2019 SportPesa Shield to focus on reclaiming the SPL crown they last won in 2016 dropped down to eighth.

It is a result that places head coach Robert 'Lion' Matano, who won the 2012 title with the Brewers, under pressure.

The other  encounter  at Machakos pitting Posta Rangers FC against SportPesa Cup champions Kariobangi Sharks FC ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

“Our game did not flow as I had expected, probably the players are fatigued due to the packed fixtures. Harrison Mwendwa could have given us a goal but he is yet to hit top form after the injury.

“Patillah Omotto is also coming from injury so he will take time to be fit. We are also going to miss Sven Yidah who will be out after accumulating five yellow cards,” Muluya underscored.

Rangers (16) moved to 13th while Sharks (26) climbed to sixth.
