NAIROBI, Kenya- National team Harambee Stars are looking forward to make a maiden appearance in the sixth edition of Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) slated for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in January 2020.

Kenya will start campaign for the 16-team tournament against Burundi at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani in Nairobi on July 26.

The return leg for the clash in Bujumbura will be held on August 4 and the aggregate winner of the tie will face off with either Tanzania or Sudan in the second and final qualifying round whose first leg will be played in September with return encounter scheduled for October.

The tournament is reserved exclusively for players actively featuring in their respective national championships.

Harambee Stars will check into the camp on March 17 to step up training for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifier against Ghana, on March 23 in Accra ahead of the CHAN challenge.

The 24-man squad called up by head coach Sébastien Migné last Thursday to face the Black Stars was surprisingly without Kenya's record scorer, Dennis Oliech, who has impressed since returning to football with SportPesa Premier League (SPL) champions, Gor Mahia FC.

Kenya stunned three-time African champions Ghana 1-0 to open the door for the 2019 AFCON finals qualification at the MISC, Kasarani last October with an own-goal from Nicholas Opuku following pressure by striker Michael Olunga.

Also national U23 team, the Emerging Stars, are set to hit camp on March 11 in preparation for their two-legged Olympics Qualifier against Sudan, whose first leg is set to be played on March 20   at the Khartoum Stadium in Sudan with the second leg slated for March 24 at Kasarani.
