Fidelity/SJAK Award: Sofapaka Tactician John Baraza Is March Finest

  • His side that managed to score eight goals and conceded just one in the period, started off with a 1-0 win over Kenya Commercial Bank FC at home before wallloping Chemelil Sugar FC 3-0 away at Chemilil Complex
  • On his way to bagging the crown, Baraza garnered eight points in a poll conducted by a panel of sports jourmalists, beating Leopards tactician Andre Cassa Mbungo who came a distant second while Gor Mahia’s  Hassan Oktay came third

NAIROBI, Kenya- Sofapaka FC head coach John Baraza is the Fidelity Insurance /Sports Journalist Association of Kenya (SJAK) Coach of the Month for March 2019.

Baraza, who was presented with the prestigious award on Thursday, guided his side to four victories in the month, in the SportPesa Premier League (SPL) where they are currently placed second on the log with 41 points after 22 games. 

His side that managed to score eight goals and conceded just one in the period, started off with a 1-0 win over Kenya Commercial Bank FC at home before wallloping Chemelil Sugar FC 3-0 away at Chemilil Complex.

The 2009 champions proceeded with their fine form, winning their third match 1-0 against AFC Leopards SC at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. Sofapaka  then went ahead to record a 3-1 win at home against Mt.Kenya United FC.

On his way to bagging the crown, Baraza garnered eight points in a poll conducted by a panel of sports jourmalists, beating Leopards tactician Andre Cassa Mbungo who came a distant second while Gor Mahia’s Hassan Oktay came third.

Mbungo guided Leopards to three wins, a draw and a lose while Oktay had three wins with Gor.
