NAIROBI, Kenya- Bandari FC continued to stamp their authority at the top of the SportPesa Premier League (SPL) table with a 1-0 victory over Nzoia Sugar FC at the Mbaraki Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Captain Felly Mulumba rose to the occasion and scored the lone goal of the game from the penalty spot in the ninth minute, to propel them five points clear at the summit.

Following the defeat, Nzoia went down one spot to 11th on the league standings having only managed four wins from the 14 games they have played.

At the Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz FC and Sofapaka FC played out to a thrilling 2-2 draw that left Batoto Ba Mungu in fourth place, seven points off the top.

Umaru Kasumba put the visiting side ahead in the 37th minute, a lead that they held on to until the break but Homeboyz came back better in the second half staging a perfect comeback.

Maxwell Ravel got the hosts level before Allan Wanga scored in his third consecutive game to give them a well deserved lead.

It was not to be for Nicholas Muyoti’s first game in charge of the Western-based outfit as Sofapaka scored with almost the last kick of the game to level the scores.

Homeboyz are now in ninth with 18 points, level with tenth-place Ulinzi Stars FC who battled to a 1-1 draw with Posta Rangers FC, despite conceding an early John Nairuka effort.

Elsewhere, Chemelil Sugar FC and KCB FC played out to a 1-1 draw.
