NAIROBI, Kenya- An enticing top of the table clash pitting second place Bandari FC (21) and Tusker FC (18), who sit in third headlines the SportPesa Premier League (SPL) midweek round 12 matches with leaders Mathare United FC seeking to bounce back from shock defeat when they travel to Sony Sugar FC.

Bandari recovered well from a 4-0 thumping at the hands of Kakamega Homeboyz FC by outclassing AFC Leopards SC (10) 4-1 at the Mbaraki Sports Complex over the weekend, lifting them back to second on the table.

The Dockers travel to the Ruaraka Grounds on Thursday to take on the Brewers who are coming off a frustrating barren draw against lowly Posta Rangers FC.

Sony (14), who are coming off two consecutive defeats, have an uphill task ahead of them as they prepare to host high-flying league leaders Mathare (24).

Francis Kimanzi’s charges travel to the Awendo Green Stadium coming off a stunning  2-1 loss at the hands of bottom side Mt. Kenya United FC (six) last Saturday.

The Slum boys who have a three-point lead at the SPL summit and will be banking on the league’s joint top scorer, Cliff Nyakeya, can rediscover his goal scoring form having not found the back of the net in the last four games.

Elswehere in Nairobi, eighth place Kariobangi Sharks (15) will take on Ulinzi Stars FC (13) as William Muluya’s charges desperately seek to get back to winning ways after their unbeaten run was halted in a 2-0 loss to Sofapaka FC.

Ulinzi have drawn four of their last five matches, most recently being a 1-1 draw at home to Chemelil Sugar FC (8) and a win for the soldiers at the Kasarani Stadium could see them jump into the SPL top 10.

Sharks rested their star forwards Duke Abuya and George Abege for the Batoto Ba Mungu encounter but they will be back in the starting line-up for the Thursday afternoon match.

Mt. Kenya are hoping to make it two wins in a row after their maiden victory over the league leaders and will be up against the wounded Leopards tomorrow afternoon at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Record champions Gor Mahia FC (16) sit in ninth and return to league action against Vihiga United FC (10) tomorrow at the Bukhungu Stadium.

Gor missed out on the weekends action as they restored hope to Kenyan football with an impressive 4-2 rout of Egyptian giants Zamalek SC in their CAF Confed Cup Group D clash at the Kasarani Stadium.

In the other match slated for Wednesday afternoon, newcomers Western Stima FC (16) will take on Zoo FC (11) as Allan Wanga’s Homeboyz (13) take on Chemelil the following day at the Chemelil Sports Complex.
