NAIROBI, Kenya- Wazito FC coach Stewart Hall picked the positives and chose to focus on the upcoming SportPesa Premier League (SPL) fixtures after his side fell 1-0 to Tusker FC on Wednesday afternoon.

A 71st David Ambunya goal following a set-piece was Wazito's undoing as the brewers shot to the top of the standings ahead of Kakamega Homeboyz FC after the nervy win.

The defeat left Wazito in 13th place on the table after 11 matches but Hall remained confident that there was still plenty to be seen from his energetic side going forward.

"It's a tough and narrow loss to take in but I am glad that we played the way that we did.

"In Mombasa we lost horribly. There was no fight from the team at all but today that was not the case. We played well, had a goal disallowed and easily had more possession than Tusker," Hall told SportPesa News after the match.

Wazito were coming off a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Bandari FC at the Mbaraki Stadium and their run of results means that the newcomers have only managed two wins from their last 10 matches.

Things are destined to look up for them though with a roster that boasts plenty of talent that is good enough to challenge for top honours, with former Nzoia Sugar FC forward Elvis Rupia proving to be a constant menace up front, especially after a hat-trick against struggling Chemelil Sugar FC.

"Today was a good show by the boys. We lost by a solitary goal and we improved drastically from our last game so as a coach I am pleased with the progress.

"The focus now shifts to our next game and our target is to get all three points as we continue this learning curve of making this one of the best teams in the country," the Englishman added.

Wazito's next assignment is a tricky encounter against high-flying Kenya Commercial Bank FC (KCB) on Sunday at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
