Gor Mahia continued their dominance in the Mashemeji Derby as they edged eternal rivals AFC Leopards 1-0 on Wednesday at the Kasarani Stadium.

Boniface Omondi scored the lone goal as Gor stretched their record to 31 wins in all 90 of the derbies against Ingwe.

The victory sees the record Kenya Premier League winners remain in sixth place with 6 points from two games, while Leopards dropped to eighth.

Leopards have only won once in their opening three games, a 1-0 win against Tusker FC on the opening day of the season.

Meanwhile, Ulinzi Stars rose to the top of the KPL standings after playing out to a 1-1 draw against Bidco United on Wednesday.

A second half Kevin Ouma penalty seemed to be taking their soldiers to yet another victory but Batts Awita scored the equalizer four minutes from time to salvage a point.

Ulinzi are top with 7 points and remain part of the five teams that remain unbeaten in this new season in the Kenyan top flight.

Bandari, who were top heading into the midweek fixtures, lost their first game of the season after losing 2-0 to Posta Rangers.

Eliud Lokuwam and Victor Ndinya continued their fine goal-scoring form to sink the dockers and see the mailmen climb to second place on the KPL table.

Both Bandari and Posta are joint-top in the scoring charts after banging six goals thus far.

Mathare United jumped out of the relegation zone on Wednesday with an important 2-1 win against Sofapaka FC, their first win of the season.

Explosive winger Danson Kago scored a brace before a Joe Waithira penalty could only be a consolation for the home side.

The slum boys are now in 11th place with 3 points while Batoto Ba Mungu are in seventh with 4 points.

After two consecutive losses, newcomers Police FC also got a resounding 3-1 victory over Nzoia Sugar FC to move up to 10th on the log.

Newcomers Clifton Miheso and John Mark Makwatta were both on target either side of an Eric Kipkirui effort to earn them a first top flight win.

Other newbies Talanta FC continued their unbeaten start to the season, playing out to a 1-1 draw against struggling KCB.

The bankers have not managed to win a game yet and are languishing in 14th
