NAIROBI, Kenya- Ken Odhiambo began his second stint as coach of Bandari FC on a winning note with an impressive 3-1 win against Mathare United FC on Saturday at the Mbaraki Stadium.

Odhiambo, who took over from Twahir Muhiddin, celebrated an important win at home courtesy of goals from Abdallah Hassan, William Wadri and a late strike from Congolese forward Yema Mwama.

John Mwangi got Mathare's goal in the 70th minute as the dockers moved to 26 points in 11th place after a second successive win.

Elsewhere at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, Kenya Commercial Bank FC (KCB) thrashed Posta Rangers 3-1 to bounce back after suffering two straight losses.

The victory lifts Zedekiah 'Zico'Otieno's bankers into third place with 41 points, level with both Tusker FC and Kakamega Homeboyz FC who both take to the field on Sunday.

Western Stima FC were held to a barren draw by Kariobangi Sharks FC at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu as neither team failed to find the back of the net.

Sharks have now gone three games without defeat, their best run the entire 2019/20 Kenya Premier League campaign to leave them in 12th place with 20 points, 13 behind their opponents who have not managed a win in their last six matches.

At the Mumias Complex, AFC Leopards SC moved into fifth place on the KPL table with a comfortable and much needed 2-1 victory against Sofapaka FC.

New signing Elvis Rupia scored his first brace for the club in fine fashion to give Leopards all three points, as their opponents remian in eighth with 30 points.

Sofapaka had to wait until the last minute of the game for Jedinak Ameyaw to score but it was too little late as Leopards remain on course to break the jinx and win a first league title since 1998.
