RUBAVU, Rwanda- SportPesa Premier League (SPL) champions booked a place in the ongoing 2019 Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Club Championships quarterfinals with a game to spare when they sunk stubborn AS Port of Djibouti 2-0 on Tuesday in Rubavu, Rwanda.

A superlative second hals display from the record 18-time Kenyan league winners and titleholders saw K'Ogalo take charge of Group D of the competition following a frustrating 0-0 stalemate at the break.

Substitute Boniface Omondi came off the bench to claim the opener before immediate former Nairobi Stima FC star and new signing, Dennis Oalo sealing victory.

Head coach Hassan Oktay turned to his bench for inspiration after the game marked an hour goalless and Omondi who had only been on the pitch for six minutes struck the first when he capitalised on a loose ball in the Port box to poach a goal after Eric Ombija won an aerial duel from a cross from impressive Oalo.
