MACHAKOS, Kenya- Whyvonne Isuza popped up with a late winner as AFC Leopards SC made it nine games unbeaten with a 2-1 victory over Bandari FC at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Vincent Oburu opened the scoring in the 16th minute and former Leopards striker Alex Orotomal equalized 10 minutes into the second half for the visitors.

Leopards top scorer for the season, Isuza, scored the winning goal in the 77th to guarantee Andre Casa Mbungo's charges all three points.

The result puts Leopards in 10th with 34 points, 11 off their third place opponents.

Sofapaka FC missed out on an ample opportunity to cut down Gor Mahia FC's lead at the summit after playing out to a 2-2 draw with Mathare United FC.

The game was the first to be played at the Kenyatta Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with AFC Leopards SC taking on Bandari FC immediately after.

Top marksman Umaru Kasumba found the back of the net twice to reach 14 league goals for the season, one less than top scorer and Kakamega Homeboyz FC captain Allan Wanga.

Cliff Nyakeya was on target for Mathare, who remain in fifth having not registered a win in their last three matches.

Sofapaka retain second spot on the SPL table with 49 points, six behind leaders Gor who play Ulinzi Stars FC in Nakuru tomorrow.
