Klopp praises Arsenal, reacts to Saka’s challenge on Tsimikas

Liverpool FC manager Jürgen Klopp has lauded title rivals Arsenal for the good and super intense game they played at the Anfield Stadium on Saturday night, December 23.

The Reds had to come back from behind to share spoils with Arsenal in the exciting match which saw players from both clubs display brilliant football.

Arsenal took the lead early in the first half through Gabriel Magalhaes’ header before pacey Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah put the host’s level with a top-notch finish.

Reacting after the game, Klopp described Arsenal as one of the best teams currently in the English Premier League.

“They are really good and really physically strong, I have to say that. It is a good football team. Thanks God we are as well, that is why it is 1-1,” he stated during the post-match interview.

The 56-year-old also mentioned Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur as some of the other top clubs in the competitive league.

Furthermore, Klopp praised Trent Alexander Arnold for his out of this world pass which made it possible for Liverpool to equalize.

“We scored a wonderful goal with may be one of the most beautiful passes I saw in my life,” commented the former Borussia Dortmund tactician.

According to him, finishing chances was one of their main challenges and Arnold should have won the game for them had his strike had not hit the cross bar, an area he disclosed that they will have to rectify ahead of their next match.

When asked about his comment on Bukayo Saka’s challenge on Konstantinos Tsimikas which saw the Greek international pick up a collar bone injury, Klopp stated that he was not in a position to make a good judgment.

“I was too close to really see what happens. So the problem I had in that moment I thought okay, I am fine. So, I was just assuming it of course he is fine as well and he is actually the opposite of fine.

He broke his collar bone and that’s really bad for us. I cannot say anything for that, you have to judge that for me, I don’t know” he explained.
