Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid continued their dominant run in La Liga with a comfortable 3-0 away victory away at Mallorca on Monday night.

The victory sees Madrid open up a 10-point gap between them and second place Sevilla, as they stretched their unbeaten league run to eight matches.

Karim Benzema, who has been in blistering form, scored a brace after Vinicius Junior had given the visitors the lead to seal all three points.

Benzema scored a hat-trick as Real beat Paris St-Germain 3-1 to seal a 3-2 aggregate win in the Champions League last 16 and the Frenchman was at it again.

Despite winning the Champions League and World Club Cup in his first period with the club, Ancelotti failed to win La Liga, but is now in a very strong position to take Real to glory.

Benzema teed-up the first for Vinicius after good work from Fede Valverde on 55 minutes. And it was Vinicius who then helped his strike partner on to the scoresheet with the second.

He scored from the spot in the 77th, before completing his brace in the 82nd to inch Madrid closer to what would be their 35th Spanish title.

Ancelotti's side will take a massive 15-point lead over Barcelona, albeit having played a game more, into Sunday's El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu.

They were goals number 31 and 32 for the season in all competitions for Benzema and he has now matched his best ever haul for a season from the 2011-12 campaign.

It also took his overall tally to 311 meaning he closes in on Raul as Real Madrid’s all-time second top scorer with 323 goals.
